Queens is Green Fashion Show

Calling All Fashion Designers, Sewers, and Crafters!

The Queens is Green Fashion Show is scheduled during the week of Earth Day to highlight clothing and accessories that not only look good, but are good for the planet.

Green Fashion isn't just clothing made with sustainable fabrics like hemp or bamboo silk, but also includes items that are handmade or refashioned from recycled or reusable products -- and we plan to highlight designs that have a Queens connection.

Local fashion designers, sewers, and crafters are invited to participate in the first Queens is Green Fashion Show. Be eligible to win a cash prize AND a feature story in the summer edition of Ins&Outs Magazine. Please send an email with the following items:

• a picture of your clothes or accessories - 3 items either sketched or finished
• a short paragraph on how your items are eco-friendly
• a short explanation on your connection with Queens, NY

Deadline to enter is March 21st (March 28th for students). If you have any questions about your eligibility, please contact Robyn Sklar at robynsklar@gmail.com or call Lynne Serpe at 646-202-0825.

The Queens is Green Fashion Show is co-sponsored by Green Space Studio, Valerie Green Dance Entropy, Loveday 31, Ins&Outs Magazine, Subdivision, Candy Plum, Ethereal, and the Green Institute.
